Dr. Jennifer Bellamy

Lead Investigator, Perinatal Interventions

Dr. Bellamy is a social worker with expertise in fathering, child maltreatment prevention, and child welfare, earning her PhD from Columbia University and her MSSW from the University of Texas Austin. She is currently a Professor and Director of the Evaluation Center at the WashU Brown School of Social Work, where she focuses on the engagement of fathers in child and family services by implementing family and system-level interventions.

Her research into StrongStart for New Dads as an effective paternal perinatal intervention builds on her work co-developing the Dads Matter-HV intervention, the Nurturing Dads and Partners (NDAP) program, and project coordination for the Texas Fragile Families Initiative, a multisite demonstration project serving young, unmarried, low-income fathers.
